Men’s Lacrosse Rallies, But Keuka Holds On

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The Elmira College men's lacrosse traveled to Keuka College to face the Wolves as they looked to build on their previous win versus SUNY Cobleskill. The Soaring Eagles battled for most of the game, ultimately falling, 16-12.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Wolves opened the scoring with the first four goals of the afternoon, giving them the edge halfway through the first period. Brody Haynes got the Soaring Eagles on the board shortly after with his first of the year. Troy Cammer followed with a goal of his own on the man advantage, and Austin Jerzak added another to cut the deficit to two, as they finished the first quarter trailing, 5–3.

John McLachlan and Jack Samek struck early in the second to tie the game and force Keuka to call a timeout. Keuka responded well, scoring two goals, but Samek netted his second of the game to bring the deficit back to one. The Wolves quickly regained their two-goal lead, but another Jerzak goal cut it to one again as the Soaring Eagles headed into halftime trailing, 8–7.

Keuka opened the third frame with the first two goals before Cammer responded with two more of his own to make it 10–9 in favor of the Wolves. Keuka College closed out the third quarter strongly, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 14–9 advantage into the final period.

Jerzak's goal opened the fourth-period scoring, but it was answered by two goals from the Wolves. The Soaring Eagles made a late push to get back into the game, scoring twice in the final stretch, but ultimately could not complete the comeback as they fell, 16–12.
