ALFRED, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's lacrosse team traveled to Alfred University to take on the Saxons Monday afternoon. The Soaring Eagles fell to a strong Alfred squad by a score of 18–0.

 Alfred opened the scoring just under a minute into the game. As the Soaring Eagles attempted to respond, the Saxons found their rhythm, scoring a flurry of goals over the final eight minutes of the quarter to take a 6–0 lead after the first fifteen minutes.

Alfred once again started the period strong, netting three goals in the first ten minutes. After a brief stretch of limited action, the Saxons added another goal with just over three minutes remaining to take a 10–0 advantage into halftime.

AU carried its momentum into the second half, finding the back of the net four times to extend its lead to 14 heading into the final frame. The Saxons added four more in the fourth quarter to secure an 18–0 victory.

The Soaring Eagles return home on Wednesday, March 25, to host the Pioneers of Utica University at Campus Field. Opening draw is set for 4:00 PM.
