ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's lacrosse team traveled to Hartwick College to take on the Hawks Wednesday afternoon. A strong start by Hartwick propelled the Hawks to an 18–1 victory.

It was a strong start for the Hawks, who scored a flurry of goals to take an early 4–0 lead. Hartwick kept the pressure on throughout the period, adding five more goals to lead the Soaring Eagles 9–0 after the first quarter. The Soaring Eagles searched for a spark as Alayna Toole recorded a couple of shots in the second quarter but could not find the back of the net. Hartwick carried its offensive momentum into the second, scoring five more goals to take a 14–0 advantage into halftime.
In a quiet third quarter for both sides, Mandy McCarrick created a good chance but shot just wide for the Soaring Eagles. Hartwick scored the only two goals of the quarter, taking a commanding 16–0 lead into the fourth. Hartwick opened the fourth-quarter scoring before Toole found McCarrick, who fired home a shot to get the Soaring Eagles on the board. One final goal by Hartwick brought the game to an 18–1 finish in favor of the Hawks.
