Elmira, N.Y. – Elmira College Director of Athletics Rhonda Faunce has announced that Head Men's Volleyball Coach Eddie Daoreuang has been tabbed the Head Women's Volleyball Coach, adding leadership of the women's program to his current role with the Soaring Eagles.
Daoreuang succeeds Savannah Terry, who has transitioned from coaching into the role of Director of Game Management and Intramurals, continuing to support Elmira College Athletics in an administrative capacity.
Daoreuang, who was hired to lead the men's volleyball program earlier this year, brings a strong background in both coaching and competitive playing experience, along with a proven track record of developing student-athletes and contributing to championship-level programs. This past season, the men's program was awarded the Empire 8 Player of the Year (Luke Jata) along with two all-conference selections (Jata and Gabriel Staron).
Prior to arriving at Elmira, Daoreuang served as an assistant coach with the St. John Fisher University women's volleyball program during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. During his time with the Cardinals, he helped guide the program to the 2024 Empire 8 Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance before returning to the NCAA Tournament again in 2025. He also helped the team improve its hitting percentage from .188 in 2023 to .215 in 2024.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Daoreuang has built an impressive coaching résumé at multiple levels. He served as a head coach with VolleyFX from 2023-25 and as an assistant coach for Pittsford Boys Volleyball from 2022-23, and this fall will join the USA Volleyball Sitting National Team Development Program as a coach.

"His passion for developing student-athletes, commitment to building a positive team culture, and experience coaching successful volleyball programs make him an outstanding fit to guide both of our volleyball teams. We are confident he will continue to elevate the experience for our student-athletes and build on the success of each program."
As a player, Daoreuang competed at a high level, contributing to three ECVA Division II North NYS Championships (2018, 2019, 2020) while helping his team capture the 2017 ECVA Conference Championship. Individually, he earned ECVA Division II North First Team honors in 2019 as both a setter and opposite. His playing career also included a 16th-place finish at the 2019 NCVF National Championships and a fifth-place finish at the 2020 NCVF National Championships.
