Elmira, N.Y. - The Elmira College men's soccer team welcomed the Giants of Keystone College to Campus Field for a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon. The Soaring Eagles claimed their first victory of the season, winning 2-0.

Luka Tatanashvili scored his second goal of the season.
Anthony Lillo-Granger also scored, while
Hernan Arenas and
Zane Busch each added an assist.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
A quick start for the Giants forced EC goalkeeper Adam Stromberg into a couple of early saves. The Soaring Eagles began to control possession and create chances after the opening 10 minutes. Elmira opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Tatanashvili's shot found the back of the net following strong build-up play from
Hernan Arenas and
Adam Tufton. The Soaring Eagles attempted four more shots as they looked to extend their lead but ultimately went into halftime up, 1-0.
Just a minute into the second half, EC doubled its advantage on a goal by Lillo-Granger. Tatanashvili's through ball found Busch down the wing, whose early cross was finished by Lillo-Granger. The Soaring Eagles stayed on the front foot, continuing to attack and look for goals while forcing the Giants goalkeeper into a few saves. Elmira also limited chances against as it controlled possession and closed out its first win of the season.

Elmira will remain at home as they host the Russell Sage Gators in their first Empire 8 matchup on Wednesday, September 16. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM on Campus Field.
