Elmira, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's soccer team traveled to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference matchup against the King's College Monarchs. Despite a strong defensive effort and several scoring opportunities throughout the match, the Soaring Eagles came up just short, falling to the Monarchs, 1-0.

Isabella Reuter led the Soaring Eagles with two shots, including one on target.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Monarchs struck first at the 10:28 mark, finding the back of the net to give King's an early 1-0 advantage. Elmira settled in as the half progressed, earning three corner kicks and creating a pair of late scoring chances. Lewis forced a save from the King's goalkeeper at 38:17 before Krawczyk followed with another shot on target at 40:50. King's goalkeeper turned both attempts aside, sending EC into the half trailing 1-0.
The Soaring Eagles continued to pressure in the second half, recording six shots and earning two additional corner kicks. Chunco tested the Monarchs at 60:59, while Reuter followed with another shot on target at 67:36. Elmira continued to generate chances late, with Wilcox, Thomas, and Drake all recording shots, including a pair of attempts in the final four minutes. Cantrell kept EC within striking distance with crucial saves at 74:32 and 83:38, but the Soaring Eagles were unable to find the equalizer as King's held on for the 1-0 victory.
