Williamsport, Pa. – The Elmira College women's soccer team hit the road for a mid-week non-conference matchup at Lycoming. An early goal gave EC the advantage, but Lycoming rallied in the second half to see Elmira fall 3-1.
LEADERS
Isabella Reuter scored the lone goal of the afternoon, while Dani Cruz and Bella Thomas picked up the assist. Scarlett Cobos made four saves during the opening 45 minutes, while Sarah Cantrell turned aside eight shots in the second half. Reuter finished with two shots, both on target, while Amelia Sacratini and Emily Seiler each added a shot on frame.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Soaring Eagles wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Reuter found the back of the net just 51 seconds into the contest. Cruz and Thomas were credited with assists on the opening goal. EC continued to create chances early, with Sacratini forcing a save in the third minute before earning a corner kick at 6:55. Reuter later added another shot on target at 17:39, while Seiler tested the goalkeeper with a shot in the '39. Cobos kept the Soaring Eagles in front throughout the opening half, making four saves as Elmira carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Elmira made several changes to begin the second half, with Cantrell taking over in goal. The Soaring Eagles faced increased pressure after the break, and Cantrell made eight saves to keep Elmira within striking distance. Lycoming eventually leveled the contest at 64:45 before adding another goal at 70:32 to take a 2-1 lead. Elmira continued to battle over the final 20 minutes, but Lycoming added a third goal at 87:00 to close out the scoring.

The Soaring Eagles return to home to host Houghton in Empire 8 play on Saturday, September 26 at Campus Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
