Chris Piscioneri

Chris Piscioneri begins his second year as the assistant coach of the Elmira College men’s basketball program during the 2022-23 academic year. Along with his assistant coach duties, Piscioneri also serves as the Assistant Director of Sports Information.

He joined the Soaring Eagles after a two-year stint at St. Bonaventure University where he served as Special Assistant to the men’s basketball program, under the supervision of head coach Mark Schmidt. During his time with the Bonnies, Piscioneri helped St. Bonaventure to one of the most memorable seasons in program history in 2020-21, as they captured the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament championships, the first time Bona’s has won both trophies in the same year. The Bonnies won the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and received a No. 9 seed in the tourney, St. Bonaventure’s highest in the modern history of the bracket.

Piscioneri spent the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Castleton University. He helped the Spartans to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament in his first two seasons, including a run to the semi-finals in 2016-17. In his final year, he assisted in the team’s transition to the Little East Conference (LEC).

Prior to his time with Castleton, in 2015-16 Piscioneri served as assistant coach to the men’s basketball program at his alma mater, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA). In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Piscioneri was the head coach of the Drury High School Boys Junior Varsity Team from 2014-2016.

Piscioneri is a 2013 graduate of MCLA where he received his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He later graduated from Castleton University in 2019 with a Master of Science degree in Athletic Leadership.
