Eric Zimmer

Eric Zimmer is set to enter his first season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Elmira College during the 2016-17 academic year.
 
Zimmer comes to Elmira after a two-year stint at Bridgton Academy, a highly-regarded college preparatory boarding school located in North Bridgton, ME. As the head coach of the Bridgton men’s soccer program, he was in charge of all aspects of the program, including game scheduling, devising training regimens, developing the program’s social media platforms, as well as national and international recruiting. In his first season at the helm of the program in 2014, he helped lead the Wolverines to their first NEPSAC Class A Quarterfinal appearance in nearly a decade, while his team earned national recognition as the 10th-ranked prep school program in the country by Topdrawersoccer.com.
 
In addition to his responsibilities as a coach, Zimmer also served as a college counselor at Bridgton. He oversaw the files of over 85 students, playing an integral role in academic monitoring and facilitating the college application process.
 
Before Bridgeton, Zimmer spent one season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater Salve Regina University, becoming the first assistant coach in the program’s history in 2013. He supported in all facets of the program, which included game management, tactical game planning, and recruiting.
 
Zimmer graduated from Salve Regina in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He enjoyed a highly decorated career on the pitch (2003-06), earning All-Conference honors all four seasons, including First Team All-Conference selections in his final two years for the Seahawks. He was named NSCAA First Team All-New England following his 2005 season. Zimmer still holds several program scoring records at Salve, including goals (40), game-winning goals (11), and goals per game (0.51).
 
In addition to his duties as a coach, he will also be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Management at Elmira.
