Luke Albertini begins his first season at Elmira College as the assistant men’s soccer coach during the 2019-20 academic year.

Albertini comes to Elmira after spending the past year as an assistant coach at Hartford City FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and as the director of soccer operations at his alma mater of Central Connecticut State University. While with Hartford City FC, Albertini was involved in all aspects of coaching the professional team with a focus on training sessions. In his time with CCSU, Albertini was responsible for budgeting, marketing and game planning.

Albertini owns a U.S. Soccer National “D” License and has attended the Soccer Champions Convention hosted by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

As a player, Albertini was a four-year starter for the Blue Devils as a midfielder and defender. He captained the team as a senior, helping the back line produce three shutouts in 2018. Albertini played in 63 games throughout his four-year career and added two goals from his deep-lying midfield position. Albertini also featured heavily for the New England Revolution Academy, playing through the U-16 to U-23 levels.

A 2018 graduate of Central Connecticut State with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Albertini will be pursuing a master’s degree in management while at EC.
