Katie Stevens

Katie Stevens is entering her second season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Elmira College in the 2016-17 academic year.

In her first season as the assistant coach, Stevens helped develop first-year point guard Lindsey Heaton '19 into the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year with averages of 8.0 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Stevens came to EC after graduating from Mars Hill College, a Division II institution located in Mars Hill, NC. She was a two-time letter winner for the Lions. She started all 26 games as a junior and dished out 51 assists, tied for team lead. Over her 53 games in her two seasons at Mars Hill, Stevens collected 84 assists and 44 steals.

The Pickerington, OH, native began her collegiate basketball career at Columbus State Community College, where she was a two-time team captain. As a freshman she earned Ohio Community College Athletic All-Conference Honorable Mention after leading her team to a 20-win season.

Stevens holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Mars Hills and is currently pursuing a graduate degree at Elmira College.
