Men's Hockey Vs. Brockport

Pine Valley, NY – EC Men's Hockey entered tonight's contest looking to earn a win after a heartbreaking loss last night to Hobart College.  The Soaring Eagles hosted SUNY Brockport in a non-conference game in which featured an Elmira team looking for their first win since November 6th and a Brockport squad looking for their first win of the season.

The first period was action filled as both teams would find the back of the net often.  Just 1:56 into the game, Kevin Willer '12 would score his sixth goal of the season.  His goal would come on a power-play opportunity as Karl Linden '11 would find Willer on the blue line for a slap-shot goal.  Darcy Vaillancourt '12 would pick up an assist as well on the goal.

Less than three minutes later Willer would find the net again to give Elmira a 2-0 advantage.  Willer's goal would come as a result of a 2-on-1 opportunity in which Etienne Archambault '14 would pass the puck in front of the Brockport goalie, leaving Willer with an open net to bury the shot.  Vaillancourt would register an assist on the goal as he started the breakaway by passing the puck out of EC's defensive zone.

Brockport's James Cody '12 would bring the Golden Eagles back as he would tally two scores at the 9:20 and 14:41 marks in the first period.  Brockport would out-shoot Elmira 18-16 in the period as the teams would enter the second period locked at two a piece.
