Women’s Basketball Falls to #13 Rochester

Rochester, NY – EC Women's Basketball dropped a tough game on the road to the number 13 nationally ranked Yellowjackets from the University of Rochester.  The Soaring Eagles struggled from the field as they were held to 13-of-56 shooting while the Yellowjackets shot just over 51%.

Elmira got off to a slow start as Rochester jumped out to a 16 point lead.  Rochester would maintain the 16 point lead for most of the first half before Elmira brought the game to within 11.  The Purple and Gold would be held to 3 points in the final six minutes as the Yellowjackets rebuilt their lead to 16 going into the half.

The second half would be all Rochester as they would outscore the Soaring Eagles 40-16 in the half.  Maybe most notably was how Elmira struggled from beyond the arc as they went a dismal 0-for-13 behind the three-point line.  The Yellowjackets would cruise to a 77-34 victory.

Elmira's offensive struggles were exposed as no EC player reached double digits.  Tesia Kaczynski '11 (Mansfield, PA -- Mansfield) added five points off the bench while rookie Meghan Jacobs '14 (Buchanan, NY -- Hendrick-Hudson) added another six.  EC will look to rebound as they return home to host Hamilton College on Sunday, November 28th at 3:00 p.m.
