Pine Valley, NY -- The EC Women's Tennis team dropped their second straight Empire 8 contest this afternoon as the Bombers of Ithaca College got the best of the Soaring Eagles. Ithaca claimed all three doubles points as well as all six singles points giving them the 9-0 win.

EC was unable to claim a match today but saw some stellar play from third year starter Bri Palmiero '12 (Rochester, NY -- Bishop Kearney). The Rochester native dropped her match at the fourth spot 6-4, 6-2. She seemed to have to control of the first set but was unable to capitalize as Ithaca would sneak out of the first set. Palmiero found herself down a couple breaks early in the second but fought hard to stay in the match.

Elmira will look to pick up their first win of the season as they travel to Utica, NY to take on the Pioneers of Utica College in an Empire 8 showdown on Saturday, September 11th at 1:00 p.m.
