Women’s Volleyball Loses a Battle

Clarkson, NY – EC's Women's Volleyball team loss another tough game Friday evening to a dangerous Clarkson University team 3-1 (26-28, 19-25, 27-25, 22-25). EC fought very hard in the first set battling back and forth, but the Soaring Eagles couldn't find the edge losing the first 26-28.

In the second and third set the Purple and Gold seemed down, but Sasha Zavadska '13 (Bratislava, SVK -- The British School) and Brittany Raykoske '12 ((Johnstown, NY -- Gloversville) would lead the team back fight until the very end. Zavadska and Raykoske led the team with 30 kills, two assists, one ace, 18 digs and nine blocks. Taryn Rumsey '14 (Mansfield, PA -- Mansfield), Amanda Matson '13 (Corning, NY -- Corning West), and Molly Short '13 (Sterling, CO – Sterling) also contributed to the team's play with a combined 13 kills, 35 assists, two aces, 26 digs and two blocks. After winning the third set the Soaring Eagles seemed to find a strategy to win, but Clarkson would not let it prevail as the Purple and Gold fell in the fourth set.

The Soaring Eagles will look to rebuild from this loss as they take on SUNY Brockport at the Golden Knight Volleyball Invitational.
