Women’s Tennis Gets Downed by Golden Flyers

Rochester, NY-- EC Women's Tennis team played a tough match today losing to the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College. Nazareth claimed all three doubles points and rallied to take five out of the six singles points giving them the 8-1 win.

EC put up a tough fight in doubles losing second and third doubles 8-4. In singles play, Kayla Fitzgerald '15 (Thomaston, CT -- Thomaston) was the lone winner at fifth singles. She controlled the match from the very start and showed great offensive positioning. Showing good fight at fourth singles was Co-captain Alex Putney '12 (Dundee, NY -- Hammondsport) losing her match 6-1, 7-6(7-5). Also showing great promise for the future were exhibition players Amanda Hart-Hempstead '13 (Topsham, ME – Ararat) and Megan Boisclair '15 (Biddeford, ME – Biddeford).  

The Women's Tennis team will look to re-cooperate and respond for their next test on Saturday, September 24th against the University of Pitt-Bradford at 1:00 p.m.
