Men’s Tennis Struggles Against Bombers

Ithaca, NY -- The Elmira College Men's Tennis team struggled to win against the Bombers of Ithaca College falling 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at Glazer Arena. The Bombers improve to 5-7 overall and 4-1 in conference, while the Soaring Eagles fall to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in conference.  
 
In doubles action the Bombers played very well cruising to victory at first and second doubles. George Smith '13 (Watseka, IL -- Granite City) and Dylan Christman '15 (Wellsboro, PA -- Wellsboro) fought well at third doubles falling in the end 8-6 after being down 6-1. In singles action Ithaca continued to control the match dominating the points and capitalizing on its opportunities. Sam Pine '14 (Elmira, NY -- Thomas Edison), at third singles, played very tough throughout his match but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-0.  
 
The EC Men's Tennis team will return to action Saturday when it travels to Oswego State University in its final contest of the 2011-12 season. Match will start at 4:00 p.m.
