Men’s Soccer Continues to Lead NCAA in Scoring; Ranked 9th NSCAA East Region Poll

Elmira, NY – The Elmira College Men's Soccer team continues to lead all three divisions of the NCAA in scoring for the third consecutive week. Meanwhile, the Soaring Eagles moved up one spot and are now ranked 9th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) East Region Poll.

The Purple and Gold average 4.71 goals per contest, making them the highest powered offensive in the nation. Saint Michael's leads Division II at 3.88 goals per game, while High Point is the class of Division I at 3.50. Elmira ranks fourth in Division III in total goals with 33. The Purple and Gold also come in at fifth in total points with 89. 

Ernesto Valverde '14 ranks sixth in the nation in points per game with 3.00 per contest, while Tre Ming '16 is sixth in assists per game at .86.

The EC Men's Soccer team who downed Wilkes University 5-0 Tuesday night now sit at 8-0 overall and 2-0 in Empire 8 play. The Soaring Eagles look to match their 9-0 start from a year ago when they take on St. John Fisher Saturday in Pittsford, NY starting at 1:00 p.m.
