Magic Number Four
In every game the Soaring Eagles have played, the victor in each contest has one thing in common - they have scored four goals.
Short-Handed - No Problem
Despite facing nine short-handed situations against Nazareth, the Soaring Eagles were able to break even in terms of goals scored. Midway through the first period, EC's
Greg Whittle '16 scored the Soaring Eagles' first short-handed goal of the season. Strangely enough, the Elmira's first short-handed goal of the 2012-13 came on the same date, November 9th when
Carter Shinkaruk '16 scored a short-hander against Geneseo State.
Leading the Country
Josh Burnell '15 has scored three power play goals so far this season. He is amongst a group of four players that are tied for the nation's lead in man-up goals.
Burtt's Big Weekend
Last weekend
Liam Burtt '16 had a break out weekend, assisting on three Elmira goals. His three assists makes him Elmira's season leader in assists with four. Also, Burtt is tied for 11th in the country in Points Per Game for Defensemen, averaging one point per contest.
Saul at Elmira vs. the SUNYAC
Since his arrival in 2009, Coach Saul has seen success against teams in the SUNYAC Conference, going 23-13-2. His best year against the SUNYAC was in 2010-11 when his Soaring Eagles went 7-2-1.
Third in the Nation
Elmira's power play unit has done big things in the early stages of the 2013-14 season. As a team, the Soaring Eagles have gone 8-for-23 on power play chances, scoring 34.8 percent of the time when they are in a man-up situation.
