Home Opener
Today's matchup against Keystone College marks the first game at Speidel Gymnasium for the Purple and Gold. The Soaring Eagles have struggled in home openers dating back to the 2001-02 season, only winning two out of 12 home opening games in that span.

Double-Digit Scoring Streak
Two-time Empire 8 Scoring leader, Jessica Zoltowski '14, has an impressive streak of double-digit scoring games going right now after recording 10 points against Cortland State on Tuesday. Dating back to last season, the fourth-year standout has eclipsed the double-digit barrier in 10 straight games.

Leading the Way
Not only has Zoltowski recorded double-digit points in each of her last 10 games, the fourth-year standout has led the team in scoring in each of Elmira's last nine games, dating back to last season. During that span, the forward has averaged a remarkable 18.9 points per game. Also starting a team-leading streak of her own is Liz Forrest '14 who has led the Soaring Eagles in rebounds in each game to start the 2013-14 season. Through EC's first three games, Forrest is averaging a team-high 7.7 rebounds.

Ranking High in the Empire 8
The Soaring Eagles have one of the best defenses from behind the arc as EC is ranked second in three-point defense. The Purple and Gold have allowed just seven of the 37 three-point attempts to fall (18.9%). On the individual side of the rankings, Alex Balara '15 currently ranks third in free-throw percentage as she has made 10 of her 11 free throw attempts thus far, good enough for a 90.9 free throw percentage.

Home Sweet Home
The Soaring Eagles experienced great success within the confines of Speidel Gymnasium last season, finishing 2012-13 with a 6-5 record at home, their best home record since the 2007-08 season. The women really came on strong at the end of the season, winning their last three games at Speidel over Empire 8 foes. Under Coach Howley, the Purple and Gold have a 17-39 record at home.

Moving On Up
With four made three-point baskets so far this season, Zoltowski has moved up to fourth place in Elmira College history in made three-pointers with a total of 123. The fourth-year standout has a chance to move up in a few other statistical categories this weekend as she is just 11 points away from third all-time in points scored, nine made field goals away from fourth all-time in made field goals, and three successful free throws away from second in that category in Elmira College history.
