Elmira, NY – Jessica Zoltowski '14 scored 16 points in a 60-47 loss at Stevens on Friday evening to become just the fourth player in program history to score 1,000 points in her career.
Zoltowski is just the second player in Elmira College Women's Basketball history to reach the 1,000 career scoring mark during her junior season. Mary Kay Babcock '83 finished her junior season with 1,050 points.
Zoltowski currently has 1,031 career points and with two games remaining this season could finish ahead of Babcock's scoring total after three seasons of play. The junior from Erie, PA will certainly be in the running to possibly finish as Elmira's all-time leading scorer and break Babcock's career scoring record of 1,457 points.
Last season
Zoltowski led the Empire 8 Conference in scoring at 19.1 points per game and earned First Team All-Conference honors. During her career with Elmira the guard has started 65 of the 66 contests she has appeared in while averaging 15.4 points per outing.
The Women's Basketball team returns to action Friday when it travels to take on Nazareth College starting at 6:00 p.m. The Soaring Eagles will return home Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. tip with Utica College.
