Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team will look to take down another nationally ranked team this Saturday, January 18th when the Soaring Eagles host No. 10 Oswego State in a non-conference game.  The puck is set to drop at 7:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, NY.

That's 39 in a Row
Elmira's 7-5 win over Cortland State marks the 39th straight time the Soaring Eagles have bettered the Red Dragons.  Just as impressive, the two teams have only met in those 39 games, with their first meeting dating back to the 1975-76 season.

10 Skaters with Points
Against Cortland, 10 Elmira players finished the game with at least one point.  It is the second time this season Elmira has had 10 or more players finish with at least one point.  The other time this season EC had 10 or more register at least one point was on November 19th against Fredonia State when Elmira had 12 skaters finish with at least one point.

One Goal in Each Period
Against Cortland State, Elmira scored at least one goal in each of the three periods.  It is the fourth time this season they have done so, going 4-0 in those games with key wins over No. 14 Neumann University and No. 11 SUNY Geneseo. In the previous three seasons, Elmira has gone 22-2-1 in games when they have scored at least one goal per period, including an 11-0-1 record during the 2010-11 season.

Back-to-Back Unassisted Goals
In the third period, Elmira scored a pair of unassisted goals, back-to-back.  Eddie Nolan '17 scored the first unassisted goal and less than two minutes later, Tommy Sumi '16 scored another. It is the first time since 2004 that Elmira has scored back-to-back unassisted goals.  The last time EC did so was on October 29, 2004 when Jarrett Konkle and Craig Macdonald tallied a pair of unassisted, shorthanded goals to solidify a 3-3 OT tie against Oswego State.

Not Since 2012
In the second period against Cortland State, Elmira's offense was relentless, launching 23 shots on goal in that single-period.  It is the most amount of shots on goal the Soaring Eagles have taken in a period since the 2011-12 season when Elmira put 24 on target against Manhattanville College on January 28, 2012.

When it Matters Most
Elmira has had a trend this season of finding their offense later in games.  This is more apparent when breaking down EC's scoring, period-by-period.  Elmira has scored 11 goals in the first period, 23 in the second, and 18 in the third.

Season High Goals
EC's seven goal performance against Cortland State is their highest number of goals in a single-game this season.  Last season, Elmira scored seven or more goals four different times.
