Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's basketball team will be in search of their 11th straight win as they travel to take on St. John Fisher College in Empire 8 Conference action.  Tip-off is scheduled for Friday, January 24th at 8:00 p.m. at Manning & Napier Varsity Gymnasium in Rochester, NY.

That's 10 in a Row
With a 50-38 win over Penn State Abington, the Elmira women have successfully won their 10th consecutive game.  The 10 straight wins is EC's first double-digit win streak since the 2006-07 season. That season, EC put together a 13-game streak and finished the season with a 21-7 record, one of three 20-plus win seasons in Elmira College history.

Double-Digit Steals
In Elmira's 12-point win over Penn State Abington, the Soaring Eagles came up with 11 steals.  It is the seventh time this season Elmira has recorded 10 or more steals in a single game.  Elmira boasts a flawless 7-0 record in those games.  Last season Elmira recorded double-digit steals in 10 games, going 5-5 in those contests.

Defensive Efforts
The Soaring Eagles have been playing great defense all season, holding teams to sub-.400 shooting from the field in seven games. In EC's win over Penn State Abington, Elmira held the Nittany Lions to a dismal .279 from the floor, the second lowest shooting percentage by an EC opponent this season.

Only 50 Points, Still Victorious
Elmira struggled from the field against Penn State Abington, shooting just .327 from the field which led to a game total of 50 points.  However, Elmira was still able to walk away with a double-digit win.  EC's 50 points is the lowest they have scored this season and still won.  It is also the lowest amount of points they have scored in a victory since the 2011-12 season when EC defeated Nazareth College on the road, 47-44.

Part of an Elite Group
With seven rebounds against Penn State Abington, Jessica Zoltowski '14 upped her career total to 506. Along with her 1,355 points, she became just the third player in Elmira College history to record 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds.  She joins former EC standouts, Mary Kay Babcock '82 and Martha Bolduc '97 in that category.

Probably a One Possession Game
Elmira has had some epic battles with St. John Fisher College in recent history.  In their last four meetings, the outcome of the game has come down to the final possession each time.  Here is the breakdown:

Jan. 13, 2012: Zoltowski stunned the Cardinals with a buzzer-beater in their final meeting of the season. Elmira wins 67-65 on the road.

Dec. 7, 2012: Mary Kate Cusack of St. John Fisher drained a three-pointer with one second on the clock in overtime to shock Elmira.  Fisher wins 66-64 at home.

Feb. 1, 2013: Zoltowski drained a free throw with one second remaining to knock-off the Cardinals.  Elmira wins 56-52 at home.

Jan. 4, 2014: Zoltowski drives to the lane in the closing seconds and with the defense collapsing on her, dishes to Liz Forrest '14 who gets fouled with one second on the clock.  Forrest drains both free throws to seal the last-second victory. Elmira wins 61-59 at home.
