Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's soccer heads back out on the road in search of their first win of the season tonight, Wednesday, September 10th, when EC takes on the Bears of SUNY Potsdam at 7:00 p.m.
Last Time OutEC seemed destined for a second consecutive overtime game when they took on Plattsburgh State last Friday night, but a late score by the Cardinals downed the Soaring Eagles, 1-0. The Cardinals outshot Elmira, 29-2, but it was not until the 85th minute of the game, on Plattsburgh's 28th shot of the night, that the first goal was scored.

Gabe Carmona'18 has certainly impressed in the early goings of the season, making a combined 24 saves in 200 minutes in net. She was tremendous at Plattsburgh State on Friday, making 15 saves in the game. The 15 saves are the most an Elmira keeper has recorded since 2010, when Karissa Wilson '12 tallied 16 saves in the second game of the 2010 season.
Looking AheadThe Soaring Eagles return home for a pair of non-conference matches against two Liberty League opponents. EC kicks-off the weekend with Clarkson University on Friday, September 12th at 4:00 p.m., then follows that game with a match against St. Lawrence University on Saturday, September 13th at 2:00 p.m. Both games will take place on Elmira's Campus Field.
Series HistoryEC and Potsdam have squared-off four times in the last 14 years, all of which resulted in Soaring Eagle victories. The Purple and Gold defeated the Bears by a 4-2 score last year on Campus Field, which was the first meeting between the two programs since 2003. Only one of the four previous contests was held at SUNY Potsdam, in 2002, with EC coming away with a 4-1 win.
Last Time OutThe Bears of SUNY Potsdam enter tonight's contest with a 2-1-1 overall record, falling most recently to neighboring Clarkson University, 2-0. Clarkson got on the board with a goal just over two minutes into the game and then added an insurance score in the 65th minute, leading to Potsdam's 2-0 defeat.
Offensive LeadersPotsdam has scored seven goals so far this season, with four of those coming from Jaci Morr and Karley Cree. Both Morr and Cree each have two goals on the season, leading the Bears with four points. Right behind those two are Nina Komosinski and Jess Sterns who have each scored one goal and recorded one assist for three points.
