Pine Valley, NY -- The Elmira College men's tennis team dropped their third Empire 8 Conference match in a row, falling to Ithaca College, 8-1. EC's lone point came from
Yaniv Kogan '18 at sixth singles.
EC's first doubles team of
Keith Bujak'15 and
Satchal Waters'16 gave the Bombers a tough test, but Ithaca prevailed 8-5. The other two doubles matches, unfortunately, were not as close as Elmira fell 8-3 and 8-2 at second and third doubles, respectively.
The Soaring Eagles looked to stage a comeback in singles play, but the Bombers thwarted that with straight set victories at first, third, fourth, and fifth singles. Waters played a tight three-set match with Ithaca's Lorenzo Viguie-Ramos, but he would ultimately fall 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 at second singles. Finally, Kogan would play a strong match against Charlie Vaca and close out a 6-4, 6-4 win.
Elmira has two matches remaining in the 2015 regular season, the first of which will be played at Utica College on Saturday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. EC then closes the weekend with a home match against Nazareth College on Sunday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m.
