Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College softball team will look to put an end to a three-game skid this afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles welcome Lycoming College to Eldridge Park Stadium for a non-conference doubleheader. Today's games are set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
Â
Last Time Out
Elmira faced its second nationally-ranked opponent of the season yesterday afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles hosted 21st-ranked Ithaca College at Eldridge Park Stadium. The Bombers scored 10 runs in the opening game, including a five-run third inning that helped Ithaca register a 10-1 win in a five inning shortened contest. Game two went the full seven innings, but the result was much of the same, as the Ithaca women marched away with a 6-0 win.

Â
EC vs. Non-Conference Foes at Home
Elmira has defended its home field extremely well against non-conference opponents over the years. Since the 2013 season, Elmira has posted an 18-2 record against non-league foes at Eldridge Park Stadium and has won seven straight non-conference home games entering this afternoon's doubleheader with the Warriors.
Â
Scouting the Warriors
Lycoming College enters today's doubleheader with a 14-17 overall record and is winners of its last two games. The Warriors' record stood at 11-9 a few weeks ago, but the Lycoming women have struggled since that point, going 3-8 with seven of those losses coming in conference games. Morgan Kunes leads the Warriors at the plate with a .375 batting average, while Ashley Schoenstadt is not too far behind with a .350 average. Kunes owns the team-lead in extra-base hits with 12, 10 of which have come in the form of doubles. Rachael Shady and Schoenstadt pace the team in RBIs with 16 apiece. Defensively, Kristi Weaver and Shady have shared pitching responsibilities for the Warriors. Shady has seen the most time in the pitcher's circle (117.0 innings) and has struck out a team-high 63 batters this season. Weaver sports a 3.99 ERA with 36 strikeouts.Â
Â
All-Time Series
Elmira and Lycoming have met four times since the 2012 season. The Soaring Eagles own a 3-1 record in those games and have won three straight entering today's non-conference doubleheader. The last time these two teams met dates back to the 2014 season, when Elmira swept the season series at Eldridge Park Stadium with a pair of 5-0 and 9-1 wins.

Looking Ahead
Elmira concludes its 10-game homestand tomorrow afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Alfred State.
