ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira College softball team had three players who were honored on the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The three Soaring Eagle athletes that were honored include Kristen Cole, Hannah Colwill, and Teona Cruz.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.
