Spoljaric Sets All-Time Goal Record in 1-1 Week
It was a history-making week for standout Soaring Eagle Moorea Spoljaric '16, who has been knocking on the door at the top of Elmira's all-time goal scoring chart. She opened the week five back of tying the all-time mark, which was held by Katya Outwater '07.
Elmira kicked off a two-game weekend with a tough home matchup against Nazareth College at Campus Field on Friday afternoon. Although Spoljaric pumped in five goals to tie the record, the Golden Flyers pulled away in the second half for a lopsided 20-9 win.
It did not take long for the Saugerties, NY, native to pull ahead into the top spot in program history when the team returned to action on Sunday in a road contest at Alfred University. She pumped in her 167
th career tally just under 15 minutes into the opening half to tie the game at 2-2. She went on to tack on five more goals in the contest, as EC pulled away for a 13-7 win. Hayley Baker '19 also continued her stellar debut season with four points on two goals and two assists.
Spoljaric was named Empire 8 Player of the Week, while Lindsay Wargo '17 compiled 25 saves to take home Empire 8 Goalie of the Week honors. Catch that story at the following link:

Men's Tennis Sweeps Hartwick 9-0 to Set All-Time Single-Season Win Record
Elmira men's tennis also made history this weekend when they powered past the Hawks by a 9-0 final, giving Elmira its program record-setting ninth win of the season, the most EC has registered in over 16 years.
Satchal Waters '16 and
Austin Mansell '16 were 8-2 winners at first doubles, while
Yaniv Kogan '18 and
Chris Konow'18 rolled to an 8-1 win at the second spot. EC's newly formed third doubles team of
Patrick Tracey '18 and
Jordan Curtis '19 had a tougher time than the other two teams, but would still walk away with a convincing 8-4 victory.
Singles action was also controlled by the Soaring Eagles, as Elmira won all six matches in straight sets. At first singles, Waters found himself in an early 2-1 hole in the first set. However, the savvy senior turned things up a notch from there on out and went on to win 11 straight games en route to a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Shortly after Waters won his match, Tracey followed suit with a clinical 6-0, 6-0 performance at the third spot, which clinched the win for Elmira. For Tracey, the win pushed his single-season total to 12.

Softball Goes 4-6 During Busy Week
The Elmira College softball team continued to power through an extremely busy stretch in its schedule this past week. The Soaring Eagles were in action in five of the last seven days, posting a 4-6 record during five twin-bills.
The Purple and Gold began the week with a pair of difficult doubleheaders against Ithaca College and Lycoming College. The EC offense struggled to get going both days, as Elmira dropped both ends of both twin-bills.
The Soaring Eagles bounced back in a big way the following two days, sweeping Alfred State and Morrisville State in a pair of doubleheaders. The wins came in dominant fashion, as EC outscored the opposition 30-to-2 in the four games.
Unfortunately, the Soaring Eagles were unable to carry the momentum into the weekend, as they both ends of a tight dual-set against Empire 8 Conference foe Utica College.
Julie Heggie '16 had an excellent week, compiling a .290 batting average and blasting three homeruns. Maddy Johnson '19 also continued her excellent rookie campaign, batting just under .500 during the course of the week.

Baseball Notches Ninth Win in 1-4 Week
The Elmira College baseball team had a tough week, in which it went 1-4 with a pair of heart-breaking losses. However, the Soaring Eagles were able to defeat Keuka College to collect their ninth win of the season, setting a new high-water mark for the fledgling program.
EC opened the week with an excruciatingly close loss to Alfred State at Dunn Field. Trailing 5-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, the Soaring Eagles collected a big two-out RBI-double from Dylan Bellinger '17 to cut the deficit to 5-4. Conor Bawiec '18 followed with a single up the middle, but Bellinger was thrown out at the plate to end the game.
Elmira followed with somewhat lopsided contest in which Ithaca College won 12-6 this past Wednesday. However, EC got the bats going in a big way the following afternoon when it hit the road to face Keuka. The Purple and Gold raced out to a 10-1 lead with Nate Hanner '18 and Dennis Rudolph '18 having big days at the plate. The Wolfpack battled back into the contest, taking advantage of a shaky Elmira bullpen, but Nick Cottone '19 settled the ship in the ninth to lock down his first collegiate save in the 10-9 win.
SUNY New Paltz locked down the Elmira offense in the final two contests over the weekend. Bellinger chipped in some big hits, delivering his fourth homer of the season in the first game and collecting a big double and scoring Elmira's only run in a hard-fought 2-1 extra-inning loss in game two.

The Elmira College men's lacrosse team began an especially brutal stretch in its schedule when it faced St. John Fisher College and the Stevens Institute of Technology this past week. EC went 0-2 in the two contests to fall out of contention for Empire 8 Conference Tournament play.
Skyler Pradelski '16 and Nevin Olney '18 each netted a pair of goals in the loss to the Cardinals to begin the week, but St. John Fisher would score four goals in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding 12-4 lead that it would not relinquish.
The Ducks dominated the score from the outset in Saturday's contest. Stevens pumped in nine unanswered goals in the opening 8:53 of the quarter, but Anthony LaRusso '16, Nevin Olney '18, and Skyler Pradelski '16 scored consecutive goals to briefly cut the deficit.
