ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's tennis team will look to end a three-match skid this weekend, as the Soaring Eagles travel to take on the Gators of The Sage Colleges and the Wildcats of the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Elmira opens the road trip in Albany, New York, on Saturday, September 16, with a 1:00 p.m. bout against Sage. EC's weekend concludes the following afternoon with a 1:30 p.m. tilt versus Penn College.

FITZGERALD EYES CAREER WINS RECORD
Senior captain Megan Fitzgerald '18 has the opportunity this weekend to become Elmira College's all-time wins leader. The Thomaston, Connecticut, native is tied for second place in EC history in career wins with 70, just three shy of tying the program record set by former teammate Ayaka Yoshino' 16. With four wins up for grabs this weekend, Fitzgerald is in prime position to take over the top spot on EC's all-time leaderboard. Additionally, Fitzgerald is two singles victories shy of tying EC's program record for career singles wins as well.

SCOUTING THE GATORS
Sage is off to a hot start to the 2017 fall season, as the Gators enter the weekend with a 3-1 overall record and an even 1-1 mark inside the Empire 8 Conference. The Gators, who are new to the E8 this season, are coming off of a dominant 7-2 victory over Alfred last time out. The win was Sage's first conference win of the year, after dropping a 5-4 decision on the road to Houghton the previous day. Sammantha Montague holds down the top singles and doubles position as Sage's ace. Montague enters the weekend with an unblemished 4-0 singles record, setting up a must-see match between her and Elmira's Fitzgerald, who is also unbeaten on the year in singles play (4-0). Rebecca Jackson is also unbeaten in singles play this season at the No. 4 spot (4-0), while Abbey Colbridge, Shanessa Mendoza and Samantha Dibbell all sport identical 3-1 records.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Penn College enters the weekend still searching for its first win of the season, after dropping its first two matches of the year to Misericordia and Susquehanna by identical 9-0 scores. It has been a rough start to the season for the Wildcats, who have won just 10-of-202 games played.

ALL-TIME SERIES
EC's matchup against Sage will be the first all-time meeting between the two programs. The 2017 fall season is the first time the Gators are competing as full-time members of the Empire 8 Conference. Sunday's match versus Penn College will be the second all-time meeting between the two teams after EC collected a 9-0 win against the Wildcats in the 2016 season opener.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following the two away matches this weekend, Elmira returns to its home courts at the Murray Athletic Center on Saturday, September 23, for a 12:00 p.m. Empire 8 Conference match against the Saxons of Alfred University.
