ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team unveiled its 2021-22 schedule on Friday afternoon.
The Soaring Eagles begin their 13th season under the direction of Head Coach
Aaron Saul '98 on Friday, October 23, with a 7:00 p.m. exhibition against the Mustangs from Morrisville College at the Murray Athletic Center. This event is free to the public and also serves as Elmira College Athletics annual
Hall of Fame Weekend. After a week of preparation, the Soaring Eagles will travel to Rochester for their season-opener with Nazareth at 7:00 PM.
Heading into another season with new opportunities, the Soaring Eagles will compete in the NEHC (New England Hockey Conference) this season. The transition marks the end of a four-year stint in the UCHC where the Soaring Eagles captured a conference championship during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season.
With their home opener against Oswego State set for October 30
th, it will also serve as
Hockey Night in Elmira. Jersey Night will be featured, as well as half-price tickets for the home opener.
Elmira opens NEHC play on Friday, November 5, when the Soaring Eagles travel to Wellesley, Massachusetts to battle Babson. The following afternoon EC will take on Southern Maine in Portland, Maine.
EC returns home against Buffalo State on November 13
th (7:00 PM) on
Military Appreciation Night, in which any current or former military member receives free admission with ID. The game marks the start of a three-game home stretch where the Soaring Eagles will also host Johnson & Wales (Nov.19) and UMass Boston (Nov.20). The weekend of November 19-20 is the
Thanksgiving Weekend Can Drive, where fans receive a free Booster Club pass with the donation of a canned good. Fans will also be able to obtain the first glimpse of NEHC play at the Murray Athletic Center on November 19
th against Johnson a& Wales.
The team hits the road for a four-game trip when they visit Buffalo State (Nov. 23). After traveling to the Eastern part of Massachusetts to take on Castleton (Dec. 3), the Soaring Eagles will play Skidmore (Dec. 4) to conclude the weekend in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Following a day trip to SUNY Brockport (Dec. 7), Elmira returns home for a one-game stint against Lebanon Valley College (Dec. 10) in their
Teddy Bear Toss game. Fans who bring a stuffed animal to the game will receive half-priced tickets for the night.
After heading to Geneseo on December 11
th, the Soaring Eagles ring in the New Year on Friday, January 7, when they host New England College and the Cadets from Norwich (Jan. 8). The weekend marks the start of Elmira's longest homestand of the season, as they will also host Southern Maine (Jan. 14), Babson (Jan. 15), and Hobart (Jan. 21).
The Soaring Eagles conclude their regular season with five of their final seven games on the road. After heading to Hobart for a game with the Statesmen (Jan. 22), Elmira heads to UMass Boston (Jan. 28) and Johnson & Wales (Jan. 29) to conclude the month.
In their final home weekend of the season, EC hosts Skidmore (Feb. 4) and Castleton (Feb. 5) on Senior Night. The weekend will serve as the annual
Athletics Alumni Weekend.
Elmira will close out the regular season with a pair of contests on the road against Norwich (Feb. 11) and New England (Feb. 12).
The NEHC Championships are scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 19, with the quarterfinal round. The semi-final round begins on Saturday, February 26 and the battle for the NEHC title begins on Thursday, March 3.

Elmira vs. Morrisville (Exhibition) – Friday, October 23 (7:00 p.m.)
The Soaring Eagles will host Morrisville and kick off their season with an exhibition game on
Hall of Fame Weekend. Glenn Thomaris, the 14-year head coach of the Soaring Eagles Men's Ice Hockey program will be honored during an afternoon reception on campus. The link to register for the event can be found

Elmira vs. Oswego State – Saturday, October 30 (7:00 p.m.)
In their regular-season home opener, the Soaring Eagles take on the Lakers on
Hockey Night in Elmira. Every adult wearing a hockey jersey will receive ½ off entry fee. Kids wearing a jersey will get in free.
Elmira vs. Buffalo State – Saturday, November 13 (7:00 p.m.)
In honor of our active and former military members, EC will be honoring Veterans Day on the weekend as
Military Appreciation Night. All military members (active or former), will receive a free entry to the game with presentation of ID.
Elmira vs. Johnson & Wales – Friday, November 19 (7:00 p.m.)
EC gives back to the community through its
Thanksgiving Weekend Food Drive initiative. Those who bring and donate a canned good will will receive half-priced tickets for the evening.

Elmira vs. Southern Maine – Friday, January 14 (7:00 p.m.)
Honor the brave men and women who protect and serve in our community at
First Responders Night! All First Responders will receive Free Admission to the game with presentation of ID.
Elmira vs. Babson – Saturday, January 15 (4:00 p.m.)
Code Purple Night, all Elmira College Athletes will be out in purple attire to support men's hockey. EC fans are encouraged to wear purple as well.
Elmira vs. Hobart- Friday, January 21 (7:00p.m.)
Forever 2Six Night- Join the greater Elmira community in honoring Billy Lowe. Billy's Forever 2Six Foundation teams up with Donate Life to raise awareness for organ donorship and helps match organ donors and recipients. Forever2Six tee shirts will be for purchase with all proceeds going to the Forever 2Six Foudation and the Donate Life.
