GENESEO, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in a non-conference matchup against SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday night at College Stadium. The Knights scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 29th minute of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Elmira held a 4-3 advantage in shots in the first half of action, but it would be Ryan Hilke that gave Geneseo a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute as his shot from the top of the box beat Soaring Eagles goalkeeper
Giovanni Garufi '22. The Purple & Gold would have an opportunity late in the half as
Kodel Frontin '25 took a shot that would be stopped by Geneseo goalkeeper Will Price.
In the second half, the Knights would turn up the offensive pressure and force Garufi to make three stops in net for the Soaring Eagles. Elmira would have its chances early in the half as
Lutho Mlunguza '23 and
Samer Slim '22 would be denied by Price as the Soaring Eagles looked to even the score.
Six different players finished with at least one shot in the contest for Elmira as Frontin paced the Purple & Gold with three overall. Garufi finished the night with three saves in net for the Soaring Eagles.
