Elmira Drops Tuesday Evening Matchup with Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y.  – The Elmira College Men's Basketball team fell to the Continentals from Hamilton College on Tuesday evening, 113-78. The Soaring Eagles were led on the offensive side of the ball by Bryan Adams'25, who scored 23 points as part of a trio of EC players to reach double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED :
Hamilton jumped out to an early 20-4 lead in the first eight minutes of play before the Soaring Eagles were able to cut their lead to eight just three minutes later. The Continentals then broke out to a 19-2 run to make the score 42-17 nearing the end of the first half. In the final minutes, the Purple & Gold opened up a 6-0 run, heading ito locker room down 47-28.
 
Elmira finished the half shooting 12-of-34 from the floor (35.3%) compared to 48.6% for Hamilton.
 
The second half saw Hamilton increase their lead from 22 to 40 in the first 16 minutes on three-point shots. The Continentals converted on 15 shots from beyond the arc in the second half compared to seven for Elmira. The Soaring Eagles finished the game with seven threes, four from David Kruis '23, with Hamilton making 24.
 
The Soaring Eagles finished the game with 29 points from the bench, Kruis leading the charge with 16 points.
