ELMA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's soccer team got back on track Wednesday afternoon when it picked up a 4-0 win over Hilbert College at Sahlen's Sports Park.
Pietro Gallina '26 scored his first collegiate goal, while
Martin Harguindey '26,
Horacio Vicioso '26 and
Lutho Mlunguza '23 all contributed scores for the Purple & Gold.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Harguindey opened the scoring for Elmira eight minutes into the match, it was his sixth goal of the season for the Soaring Eagles. Four minutes later, Gallina doubled EC's lead as he recorded his first collegiate goal.

Olivier Rusch '26 looked to get in on the scoring action when he ripped a shot off the woodwork with fifteen minutes left in the half. The Purple & Gold would go into halftime with eight total shots, but kept the pressure on as they recorded 14 more after the break.
Elmira outshot Hilbert 22 to 5 in the match, surrendering just one shot on goal to the Hawks. With just under 20 minutes to play, Vicioso converted a penalty kick for the Soaring Eagles to make it 3-0 and a minute later he assisted Mlunguza to put the final score at 4-0.
