ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's basketball team dropped its Saturday afternoon matchup to the visiting Saxons from Alfred University inside of Speidel Gymnasium, 85-61. After holding the lead for the majority of the first half, the Soaring Eagles would be outscored by 32 points in the final 25 minutes of the game as the Saxons used a 21-point and 12-rebound effort from Marshall Brewster to help earn the victory.

For the Soaring Eagles, Riley Spencer '26 would lead all scorers with 14 points, while Dylan Jacob '24 and Tyler Cardello '26 recorded 12 and 11 points respectively. Despite turning the ball over a season-low 11 times, an 11-of-33 effort from deep and shooting 48.5% for the game helped propel the visitors to victory. 

Alfred held the slim advantage in points off turnovers (13-8), while also leading in bench points, points in the paint, and fast break points. Additionally, the Soaring Eagles were able to be effective inside, recording a season-best 20 offensive rebounds compared to just 13 for the Saxons.
