Darius Green '24 and
Bryan Stafford '26 each recorded individual victories for the Elmira College men's wrestling program on Saturday as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 40-9 decision in a dual competition against the Cardinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Elmira would notch its first victory of the match against the Cardinals at 184 pounds as Stafford recorded a 5-3 decision for the Purple & Gold against Nathan Coon from St. John Fisher. The victory for Stafford would trim the match score to 40-3 in favor of the Cardinals.
In the final bout of the match at heavyweight, Green would be victorious via fall as he would pin Luke Cawley at the 4:30 mark of the bout. The pin for Green was his fourth of the season and sixth overall victory of the season.
The Cardinals would be victorious in contested bouts at 141 pounds and 157 pounds while also receiving five forfeit victories in the match. There was no contest from either program at 197 pounds.
Selvin Maldonado '25 would drop his match wrestling at 141 pounds for the Purple & Gold against the Cardinals' Torin Bishop via a fall at the 4:20 mark of the bout. The other contested bout featured
Hollis Berry '25 for the Soaring Eagles as he dropped a 17-6 major decision against Fisher's Joshua Maslyn at 157 pounds.
