HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter saw both teams trade leads, with Elmira building a 5-0 advantage at the start before SUNY Geneseo tied the game with 7:35 left in the quarter. The Knights then took a five-point lead of their own, going on a 10-point unanswered run to make the game 10-5. Elmira retook the lead thanks to a pair of two-pointers by D'Asia Jones '25, giving the Soaring Eagles the 11-10 advantage with 1:22 left in the quarter. The Knights responded with four points to close out the first, with SUNY Geneseo leading 14-11.
- The second quarter started with a 10-2 run by the hosts, bringing their lead to 24-13 with 3:38 left in the half. A pair of good two-pointers by Alleney Klunk '24 and Laura Bogota '25 helped Elmira build some offensive momentum, but the Knight's lead was too significant and the Soaring Eagles entered the break trailing 27-17.
- The first four and a half minutes of the third quarter saw the Knights make another run, this time outsourcing the Soaring Eagles 13-5 to increase their lead to 22-40, before a made three-pointer by Bogota and another two by Klunk helped EC cut into the deficit with 4:27 left in the quarter. However, Elmira was unable to find significant offense after that stretch, scoring only four points for the remainder of the third while the Knight's lead increased to 51-31.
- Despite a pair of layups early in the fourth quarter by Nevaeh Winston '25 and Taylor Jung '25, Elmira was unable to meaningfully cut into SUNY Geneseo's lead, and after the Knights scored 10 unanswered points, their lead increased to 63-35.
