ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's soccer team was unable to crack the scoreboard on Wednesday afternoon at Campus Field against the visiting Lakers from Oswego State, as the Lakers took the match 2-0 following a pair of scores within the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Elmira, who played the Lakers to an even eight shots a piece, were vastly outnumbered 11-1 in corner kick opportunities, in which Oswego was able to score its first goal of the contest from.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles battled the Lakers to a 5-5 draw in shots during the opening half, which included two saves for Elmira goalkeeper Juan Carlos Cruz Gandia '27 and one for Laker goalie Andre Bourjollu.
- Elmira's first opportunity came at the 24:16 mark when Alessandro Lancia '26 created an opportunity, but the shot eventually deflected off the woodwork and kept the game scoreless at 0-0.
- The Soaring Eagles were able to create three additional shots in the remainder of the frame, with only one on net.
- Headed into the second, the Lakers were awarded three consecutive corner kick opportunities, which the last resulted in a goal from Jason Wuytack. The next shot of the half would once again be good for the Lakers, coming just nine minutes later (59:07) off the foot of Kieran Gilroy.
- The goal would be the final of the contest, as the Lakers went on to take the 2-0 victory.
