Soaring Eagles Set New Program Record for Wins in a Season at Electric City Duals

SCRANTON, PA – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles traveled to Northeast Pennsylvania on Sunday where they collected a pair of wins bringing their season total to three and setting a new program record for wins in a single season. 

JUST THE BASICS (MATCH 1):
SCORE: Elmira 9, Scranton "B" 38 
LOCATION: Scranton, PA | John Long Center
TEAM DUAL RECORDS: Elmira (3-6), Scranton (3-2) 

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Hollis Berry '25 and Kahajen Smith '25 each won their matches, with Berry pinning his opponent at 165 lbs. and Smith winning via decision at 197 lbs. 
The Soaring Eagles forfeit at 125 lbs., 133 lbs., and 285 lbs to end the match.

JUST THE BASICS (MATCH TWO):
SCORE: Elmira 17, NJCU 34
TEAM DUAL RECORDS: Elmira (3-6), NJCU (5-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED (MATCH TWO):
Berry won his second matchup of the day, winning by decision with a score of 20-14 to give the Soaring Eagles three of their 17 points in the second match.
Bryan Stafford '26 won by technical fall in his weight class of 174 lbs., bringing the EC total to eight points.
Smith won a heavyweight decision at 285 lbs., by a score of 9-6, netting another three points for his squad.
Garrett Roskelly took a six-point forfeit in the 197 lbs. class, netting EC its final score for the match.

SCORE: Elmira 0, Oneonta 49
TEAM DUAL RECORDS: Elmira (3-6), Oneonta (5-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED (MATCH THREE):
With the Soaring Eagles forfeiting the 125 lbs. class and no contest for the 133 lbs. class, the Red Dragons kept a clean sheet, winning all eight matchups.

JUST THE BASICS (MATCH FOUR):
SCORE: Elmira 27, Rowan 17
TEAM DUAL RECORDS: Elmira (3-6), Rowan (0-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED (MATCH FOUR):
Smith and Roskelly were the only Soaring Eagles to actually compete against the Road Runners as there were no contests at 141 lbs. and 197 lbs., EC again forfeit the 125 lbs. and 133 lbs. classes, and Rowan forfeit 149, 157, 165, and 174 lbs.
Smith won an 8-7 decision at 184 lbs., giving the Soaring Eagles three points.
Roskelly wound up defeated by a technical fall at 285 lbs.

TEAM DUAL RECORDS: Elmira (3-6), Keystone (1-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED (MATCH FIVE):
After no contests at 125 lbs. and 133 lbs., Selvin Maldonado '25 (149 lbs.), Kaiden Ellis '28 (157 lbs.), and Roskelly (184 lbs.) each prevailed over their opponents.
Berry and Stafford each won by forfeit.
