ALFRED, N.Y. – Elmira College women's basketball opened their road schedule on Wednesday night at Alfred State, taking a 66-57 win over the Pioneers.
Taylor Jung '25 finished with 23 points for the Soaring Eagles in the winning effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles rode a 19-point second quarter into halftime and only allied nine points in the third quarter, their defensive effort a key in the victory.
Elmira didn't have a great day shooting, only hitting at a 36.7% clip, but the quantity of their shots combined with a 40-28 edge in rebounding more than made up for it.
Jung led all players with 23 and pulled down seven rebounds. Neveah Winston '25 (11),
D'Asia Jones '25 (eight),
Amarionah Dixon '26 (eight), and
Mallory Welty '26 (seven) rounded out the Soaring Eagles' top scorers. Winston and Dixon almost recorded a double double in points and rebounds, with Winston narrowly missing one rebound and Dixon falling two points shy.
The Purple & Gold came forced 24 turnovers, with Winston coming away with five steals and three blocked shots. Jung also blocked a pair of attempts.
