BROCKPORT, NY – Selvin Maldonado '25 was victorious on Wednesday night for the Elmira College men's wrestling program as the Soaring Eagles closed the dual portion of their schedule against the Brockport Golden Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Brockport opened the dual with a pair of forfeit victories at 125 and 133 pounds to jump out to a 12-0 lead against the Soaring Eagles.
• The Soaring Eagles followed with a victory at 141 pounds as Selvin Maldonado '25 recorded a 13-3 major decision against Francis Whitehouse.
• A pair of bouts would go down to the wire as Blake O'Brien '24 dropped a 12-10 decision for the Purple & Gold at 149 pounds against Mahmoud Esa, while Hollis Berry '25 fell a 17-15 decision at 157 pounds against Max Morrison.
• Brockport recorded victories via fall at 165, 184, 197, and 285 pounds while notching a tech fall victory at 174 pounds.
• At 197 pounds, Kahajen Smith '25 worked up a 3-1 advantage against Brockport's Elijah Bonet before Bonet gained momentum and recorded a pin at the 4:53 mark of the bout.
