DELHI, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's soccer team earned its first draw of the season, doing so on the road at SUNY Delhi on Wednesday afternoon. After a early second half goal put the Broncos ahead 1-0 off the foot of Roberto Velasquez-Osorio, the Soaring Eagles marched back to score the equalizer just over five minutes later, as Matt Crichton '27 scored the first goal of his collegiate career on an assist from Pietro Gallina '26.

LOCATION: Delhi, New York | Neil Riddell Field

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a scoreless first half, the Broncos would see a goal kick followed by a Soaring Eagle turnover, near midfield. After a boot into the offensive zone from John Walsh, Velasquez-Osorio would find himself with a one-on-one opportunity with Elmira goalkeeper Juan Carlos Cruz Gandia '27. After Gandia charged out of the box looking to make an early interception, a shot off the right foot into the center of the net would give the Broncos the 1-0 advantage.
- With 35:56 remaining in regulation, the Soaring Eagles and Gallina would work the ball into the box, where Crichton was able to finish the header with a defender draped all over him, as well as finishing past the goalkeeper to tie the match 1-1.
- That would ultimately conclude the scoring for the evening, as the match finished in a 1-1 draw. Overall, the Soaring Eagles would outshoot the Broncos 9-2 on net, including 18-7 overall. Delhi had the upperhand in corner kicks (4-3), while Cruz Gandia finished with one save in net.
