ELMIRA, NY – The Elmira College women's basketball team hosted the Lycoming College Warriors on Saturday afternoon in EC's final game before the holiday break. Strong shooting from the Warriors propelled them to a 72-55 win over the Soaring Eagles.

Haley Mosch's hot start got the Soaring Eagles off to a strong start with back-to-back triples, and Lauren Miller's driving finish helped put EC on an 8-0 run to start the game. Elmira's strong shooting continued as Mallory Welty and Miller buried triples to give the Soaring Eagles a 14-6 lead to close the first quarter. Mia Welty's three-pointer opened up the second quarter scoring before a Lycoming run narrowed their deficit to three. A pair of baskets by Mosch helped quell the Lycoming run, but strong three-point shooting gave the Warriors a 30-27 lead as both sides headed to the locker room.
Lycoming College opened the third quarter scoring before Amarionah Dixon quickly responded with back-to-back layups. A 6-0 run by the Soaring Eagles gave them a one-point edge, but the Warriors battled back to take a 48-42 lead at the end of the third. Both sides traded baskets early in the final frame, but an 8-2 run by Lycoming extended their lead to 12 with five minutes remaining. The Soaring Eagles tried to battle back, but the Warriors' hot shooting continued as Lycoming secured the 72-55 win.
LEADERS
Haley Mosch led Elmira in scoring with 14 points while shooting 75% from the field. Amarionah Dixon posted an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double, and Lauren Miller tallied 10 points.
