SCRANTON, P.A. – The Elmira women's basketball team traveled to Scranton to face the Pacers of Marywood University. The Soaring Eagles fought hard to overcome a double-digit deficit, but ultimately fell short 66-62.

Haley Mosch's three-pointer opened the scoring in the contest. Both sides traded baskets until back-to-back threes from
Mallory Welty put the Soaring Eagles ahead by three. A couple of buckets by the Pacers gave them a 16-15 lead after the first quarter.
Mia Welty hit a triple on EC's first possession of the second quarter followed by a jumper in the paint from
Amarionah Dixon. Marywood went on an 11-2 run to pull them ahead.
Mallory Welty responded with a three and a pair of free throws to help the Soaring Eagles pull back within six as they headed into halftime trailing 35-29.

Aynsley Belcher started the second half for EC, but Marywood responded with a quick 6-0 run. Strong three-point shooting by the Soaring Eagles helped propel a 12-3 run to pull them within one, but a couple of jumpers by the Pacers in the final minute of the third ended the period with Marywood leading Elmira by six (49-43). Layups from Dixon and Mosch helped get EC started in the final frame, but a 7-0 run by the Pacers gave them a 58-47 edge. Three-pointers from
Mallory Welty and Miller helped narrow the lead, and a jumper by Dixon made it a two-possession game with under a minute to go. Back-to-back threes from Miller and Dixon pulled EC within one with ten seconds left, but the Soaring Eagles ultimately fell to the Pacers, 66-62.

Amarionah Dixon led the way for Elmira with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Mallory Welty scored 14 points while shooting 4-7 from beyond the arc.
Haley Mosch contributed 13 points.
