ELMIRA, N.Y. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with forward McKenzie Schmidt '25 earning Player of the Week accolades and goaltender Sara Sevcikova earning Rookie of the Week honors for Women's Ice Hockey.

A native of Baldwinsville, New York, Schmidt tallied seven points in a pair of wins for the Soaring Eagles against William Smith College over the weekend.

Schmidt tallied two goals and one assist on Friday, followed by two goals and two assists on Saturday. Schmidt netted a power-play goal along with Elmira's game-winning goal on Friday.

A native of Ceský Krumlov, Czech Republic, Sevcikova notched her third shutout of the season on Friday as she stopped all 25 shots that she faced in a 4-0 victory for the Soaring Eagles against William Smith College.

Sevcikova improved her record between the pipes to 7-2-0 this season while sporting a 1.12 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage for the Purple & Gold.

The NEHC also recognized Hailey McKim from Southern Maine as the Goaltender of the Week.

Elmira is on the road the next two weeks as the Soaring Eagles wrap up the regular season with a pair of games against Albertus Magnus this weekend, followed by two games next weekend against Vermont State Castleton.
