ELMIRA, N.Y. – Elmira College women's ice hockey goaltender Sara Sevcikova has been named the Empire 8 Goaltender of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Sevcikova was seen recording 19 saves during Elmira's match against Cortland on Tuesday.

Sevcikova leads the Soaring Eagles goaltenders with a 5-2-1 record, recording 481:45 minutes of play so far this season. She has recorded 116 saves and only allowed seven goals through eight games of play. Also, Sevcikova has tallied two shutouts thus far this season.
