Soaring Eagles and Panthers Split Doubleheader to Wrap up Spring Break Trip down South

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles and Pitt Bradford Panthers

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE):
Elmira got on the board in the second inning when Gabe Fellows '25 doubled to left center, bringing in Brady Buttice '26. Fellows later scored on a throwing error to cut the deficit to 3-2.

The Soaring Eagles pushed across two more runs in the fifth, highlighted by an RBI single from Xander Canfield '26.

Elmira managed just five hits in the game, with Canfield, Fellows, and Kaden Bolt '26 each recording one RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO):
Pitt-Bradford took an early 4-0 lead, scoring twice in the second and two more in the fourth.

Elmira erupted in the sixth, starting with a two-run homer from Xander Canfield to put the Soaring Eagles on the board.

Gabe Fellows followed with an RBI ground-rule double, and Bobby Cavalier '28 launched a two-run homer to give Elmira a 5-4 lead.

Kaden Bolt capped the inning with a two-run blast to center field, extending the lead to 7-4.

Pitt-Bradford responded with runs in the sixth and seventh, but Jack Finnerty '23 shut the door to secure the victory.

Elmira will turn its attention to its home opener against Penn College on Tuesday, March 18th.
