ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's volleyball team completed play in the Elmira Fall Quad Invitation on Saturday inside Speidel Gymnasium as the Soaring Eagles dropped a pair of contests to finish the tournament with an 0-3 record. EC fell to SUNY Oswego, 3-0, in the matinee, but rallied from an 0-2 deficit to force a fifth set against Bard College.

HOW IT HAPPENED (ELMIRA vs. BARD):
- The Soaring Eagles had a rough start to the first two sets after Bard took an early lead in both and never looked back. The Raptors took the first set, 25-19, and the second set, 25-20, but not before EC closed the gap to 21-18 in the latter set before falling.
- The third set started with Elmira's first lead at 2-0. The Soaring Eagles were the first team to 10 points after both teams tied seven times. Elmira took a 12-9 lead with three-consecutive points before Bard rallied late for a 23-20 lead. Trailing 27-26 with match point on the line for the Raptors, EC secured three consecutive points for a 29-27 set win.
- The fourth set was Elmira's best after taking a 3-0 lead and holding the lead throughout the set. Bard rallied to take 16 of the last 29 points, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Purple and Gold.
- The fifth set was tight early with three ties through the first 10 points, but after the teams switched sides at 8-6, the Raptors took seven of the last 11 points for the match win.
- Aimee Bridges '29 led Elmira in kills (12) and aces (5) to help spark the team to a deciding fifth set.
HOW IT HAPPENED (ELMIRA vs. SUNY OSWEGO):
- The Lakers got off to a hot start in the first set with a 7-0 lead and never looked back. Elmira rattled off seven-consecutive points to get within seven at 20-13 before falling 25-14.
- The start of the second set was nearly the same with a 7-1 Oswego lead. The Soaring Eagles got within three points at 11-8 before the Lakers pulled away for a 25-12 second-set win.
- Trailing 11-7 in the third set, EC got nine-consecutive points to take a 16-11 lead. Up 23-19, Oswego got the final six points of the set to take the match 25-23.
- Erin Bracken '28 finished with a team-best 16 assists and seven aces for the Purple and Gold, while Gabriela Rodriguez '26 led the team in digs with 11.
