Kyra McDonald '18 posted five points to help the Elmira women earn an 18-10 victory over New England College in non-conference action on Saturday in Henniker, New Hampshire. The senior attacker ended the day with two goals and three assists. It was a career day for McDonald, as she tied a season high with five points and posted a new career high with three assists. She had a hand in EC's final four goals to help put the contest out of NEC's reach, in addition to scoring the game-winner at the 24:38 mark of the second half.
McDonald has tallied five points twice in the last three games. With her strong outing, the pride of Charlotte, North Carolina, moved into first place on the team with career highs in points (25), goals (18) and assists (7). McDonald also ranks among the team leaders in ground balls (20) and draw controls (19), both of which are career bests, as the attacker has made her presence known beyond the offensive end of the field.
The EC women will also face the Ducks of No. 23 Stevens on Wednesday. The 4:00 p.m. tilt will take place at the DeBaun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, New Jersey.
