Connor Powell '20 extended his season-opening point streak to five consecutive games by scoring the game-winner against SUNY Potsdam and a season-high three points in wins over both King's College (Pa.) and Wilkes University at the Murray Athletic Center. In the three games combined, the junior forward recorded four goals, two of which were scored on the power play, in addition to three assists.
In a midweek road matchup against the Bears of SUNY Potsdam, Powell notched his first game-winner of the week by scoring late in the third period to lift the Soaring Eagles to a 3-2 non-league win. In a 7-3 triumph over the Monarchs on Friday night, the Merrimack, New Hampshire, native deposited a pair of goals with one helper. Both goals were tallied on special teams, as he put EC on the board in the first period with a shorthanded score, followed by a power-play goal early in the third to double-up the Monarchs, 6-3. On Saturday, Powell was vital in Elmira's 5-2 victory over the Colonels by burying the eventual game-winner on the power play, while doling out a pair of assists to linematesÂ

Following his productive weekend, Powell is tied for first in the nation with 10 points (6g-4a) and second in power-play goals (3).
Powell and the EC men's ice hockey team will look to extend their three-game win streak on Friday, November 9, when the Purple and Gold travel to Aston, Pennsylvania, to face Neumann University in UCHC play at 7:00 p.m.
