Kelsie Aloi '21 was instrumental in EC's victories over Wells College and The Sage Colleges, as she scored a goal in both games to help the Soaring Eagles' offense explode for a 6-0 win over the Express on Tuesday, September 25, and a narrow 2-1 Empire 8 Conference win over the Gators on Saturday, September 29.
A sophomore from Moravia, New York, Aloi finished the week tied for the team lead in points with five. She buried Elmira's fifth goal in the lopsided win on the road against Wells on a night when she launched a season-high five shots on goal. Aloi then contributed to both scores in the one-goal defeat of the Gators, depositing EC's first in the eighth minute before assisting on the second-half game-winner from Mae Dinh '19.
Through the first nine games of the season, Aloi is tied for the team lead in points (8) with career highs in goals (3) and assists (2).
The EC field hockey team will play on the road on Wednesday, October 3, against The College at Brockport at 7:00 p.m. The non-conference contest, which was originally scheduled as a home game at the Murray Athletic Center, was relocated to Brockport's Dr. Linda Arena & Class of '69 Field Hockey Venue due to inclement weather in the forecast.
